Apparently the secret with lions is to cry. They feel sorry for you, and rescue you from bad guys. :)

Yeah, somehow I don't totally buy that crying is the secret to dealing with lions. I rather suspect that with the ability to see and smell, they can tell the difference between a 12-year old girl and a lion cub.
The part that of the story that I found disturbing is the frequency of the abduction->marriage transition in Ethiopia. The story says that 70% of the marriages there are done this way.
