Hipster Christian Quiz
I thought I might have come out high on this one, thankfully, I'm not a Hipster Christian. :) Sorry, Beth, apparently I'm not the "cool" Christian you always thought I was...

I scored 54/120. There were whole questions I knew nothing about, like 'who represents the future of Christianity in America'. Total blank. I voted Democrat once before I was saved & since then Republican, so now they've got me in a Hawaiian shirt?

You'r hipper than me, Steve! I only got 51! (Presumably because I have never voted Democrat? 'Course, I didn't vote Republican in the last election either...)
I didn't know any of those "future" people either. Not sure this is a bad thing.

re: Hipster Christian Quiz
My taking this like a test - as in "how do I think a hipster Christian would respond" was 91/120. Some of the questions I had to choose the answer I hadn't heard of. Still to come: My actual score...

OK. Here it is

"Your Christian Hipster Quotient:
42 / 120

Low CHQ. You probably belong to the purpose-driven, seeker-sensitive, Hawaiian shirt-wearing Christian establishment, even though you are open to some of the "rethinking Christianity" stuff. You seem to like edginess in some measure but become uneasy when your idea of Christian orthodoxy is challenged by some renegade young visionary who claims the virgin birth isn't necessary."

Steve, I'm with you... and honestly, I'm feeling a little judged and misrepresented after reading this... Oh well, guess I'll just have to get used to it ;)

Scored about the same as everyone else and received the "Hawaiian shirt-wearing" message. Just for the record, I only wear Hawaiian shirts when it's a theme for something I'm attending. I guess that makes me even more un-hip 'cause I don't even get the reference. Several of the questions had no good choice for the answer. And frankly, dang right I get uneasy if another Christian claims the virgin birth isn't necessary. Duh! I'm all for questioning things as long as you're really interested in the answer and not just trying to justify a bandwagon you're currently on. Okay, now I'm just getting preachy and gonna sound really un-hip. Bummer. Or not.

Laggard. You hardly even register on the CHQ scale. But fear not: This is not necessarily a negative thing. Your Christian faith is refreshingly independent of zeitgeisty movements, styles, and reinventions.

Wow! That was harsh! They didn't even have a dot for "How long after you started voting I switched to voting republican. I'm not even sure how to answer some of those!

I guess I'm cool with being un-hip if that's where hip is going. I can just be proud of the lowest score so far!
